CTS Certification
Wondered if you might be interested in this? [https://www.avixa.org/certification-section/CTS](https://www.avixa.org/certification-section/CTS "") I did the CTS years ago, and it was fairly straightforward. I imagine it would be useful in filling any knowledge gaps (not that I think you have any significant gaps), and give confidence knowing you have an industry standard qualification.

Allow Graham to use his laptop on the stage
I think we should prioritise this. I hadn’t realised how keen Graham is to get this sorted. It’s quite a convoluted process at the moment to get slides onto the Quelea laptop - taking up more of Graham’s and Ops' time than it should.

Add sound bar to foyer TV and release foldback monitor for use
sound bar needs to have accessable control for volume. Maybe helpful to have sound coming from direction of the screen but will still be in sync with rotunda and not video on TV. It will be very helpful to free up a network point above bookcase and a working foldback for musician use

Formalise responsibility for control of Lower Hall volume with stewards
Previous title: What happened to the lower hall room monitor/steward? Had a minor problem this morning where, due to lower-than-usual numbers of people in the lower hall, the sound was too loud. The stewards came to the sound desk but I couldn’t change anything as the levels looked okay for the stream. They didn’t know how to adjust the volume in the room. I showed them how to adjust it after the service. But didn’t we used to have a room steward/monitor who had this as their list of responsibilities? Has that silently disappeared? Perhaps some time ago as nobody else I’ve spoken with seems to remember this arrangement! My proposal is to try to reinstate this again, if possible.

Understand the static noise issue
We had static across multiple channels for about 10 minutes agan this morning. This isn’t the first time it’s happened, and it’s possible other times that have been described as radio mic interference are actually this issue too. It’s likely to be an electrical issue, not helped by either (a) the bass amp, and (b) the induction loop. Let’s use this ticket to keep track of the setup each time this occurs. Things we should try next time it happens: - Briefly switch off the induction loop, see if the problem goes away - Unplug the bass amp XLR from the back of the sound desk, see if the problem goes away - Let the rest of the team know about trying these things, so they are prepared Things we should proactively consider doing: - Use a separate DI box for the bass amp - Look into power conditioners with EMI filtering (does our existing power supply do this?) - Isolate the induction loop driver power supply, so it’s separate to the sound desk - See whether a newer induction loop driver would provide better EMI supression (could we even swap drivers between the rotunda and lower hall temprorarily as a test?) - Get a quote for a replacement induction loop, if we don’t already have one, so we’re not running a loop around the edge parallel with the multicore - Look at getting the digital multicore

Create training documents for use when training people on sound and video
I think it would be helpful to have: 1. A checklist to ensure that every aspect has been fully covered in training 2. A reference that people can take with them following the training and use as a refresher. I’m thinking #1 would be easy to do, even if we aren’t able to do #2 yet.

Make it easier to flip the birddog camera
This was Graham’s idea: Build a script to easily flip the camera (e.g. if it flips mid-service). Thoughts: - Could we add a streamdeck button for this? - Birddog have a REST API, so creating the script would likely be trivial: [https://birddog.tv/api/](https://birddog.tv/api/ "smartCard-inline") I appreciate this will hopefully only be needed in the short-term, but may be a quick fix anyway. Plus any learnings could be used for other types of automation if wanted.

Sort out sound for lower hall pc
Current issues: - Multiple restarts are often required to get HDMI audio working (though I suspect if it’s switched first on the switcher then it would be okay - need to verify this) - Huge variation in sound levels (not sure if this is just between apps, or if it changes randomly) Potential solutions: - Use minijack out instead of HDMI. Should be relatively simple now we have the mixer - Look at setting up a separate box with Linux (the risk being I think this may confuse some mid-week users though) - use line inputs rather than XLR for output from switcher [KE: I don’t think this fully explains the variance though]

Add "OBS can be sent to screen" item to the checklist
The baptism camera couldn’t be sent to screen on Sunday: - It could be seen on OBS and the stream. - I talked Jayne through it on the phone today - it was fixed by using the right-click menu in the same way we sometimes need to do for the screen on the back wall. - There is a down-side to adding an item to the checklist that we don’t always need - we need to weigh-up the benefit vs making the checklist too bloated. We could always have a separate baptisms section, but there are other occasions where we need this too.

Fixes from last weekend
Things that need checking/fixing. Lower Hall: - We have a broken HDMI cable from where Friday Group pulled things out (thankfully one we can easily replace). The monitor output is currently being sent to the projector as that was the quickest and easiest thing to explain what to do over the phone on Sunday. Rotunda: - Check the lectern and radio mics are working okay. These weren’t working at times on Sunday, but not sure if these are technical issues. - Get the sound desk ready for next use. It’s currently a bit of a mess - The OBS output couldn’t be sent to the projector [OBS preview not setup correctly]

Move ambient mic to a separate page on sound desk
Reasons for suggesting this: - This was turned up in the room on Sunday morning, causing loud feedback twice (I’m as certain as I can be that this is what happened, as the fader is currently up on the desk and best explains what can be heard on the recording) - There’s always a risk it could be muted accidentally - It uses a fader on the first page that could free up a channel for the band

Check in to radio mic issues (was rechargeable AA batteries)
We had a radio mic issue today (lots of crackling/interference) which we suspect is a battery issue, as the transmitter was only on 1 out of 3 bars (on the new radio mic). I’ve checked the 5 x AA batteries with the battery tester, and in the charger: - 2 x Batteries a good (give 3 bars on the radio mic) and charge - 2 x Batteries (the ones in the radio mic today) are borderline good on the tester, and I came up with errors on the charger even when I put them in different slots. - 1 x Battery is even worse, only going midway on the tester, and seemingly not charging. I’ve taped the 3 dodgy batteries together and left them by the sound desk. Ops have confirmed there are normal AA batteries in the office should we need them before we can get replacements.
